Privacy Policy
How OpenRemix collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains account, creative, billing, and usage information.
Last updated: 2026-08-12
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how OpenRemix handles information when you visit the website or use account sign-in, image and video generation, prompts, reference uploads, creative history, credits, payments, analytics, and support. It should be read together with the Terms of Service.
OpenRemix is an independent creative workspace and is not an official ByteDance, Doubao, Seed, or Seedance corporate website.
2. Information we collect
We process information needed to operate and secure the product:
- Account information — name, email address, avatar, sign-in provider, internal identifiers, authentication sessions, and account settings.
- Creative inputs — prompts, product facts, reference images, videos, audio, uploaded files, model choices, resolution, duration, aspect ratio, and other generation parameters.
- Generated assets and history — task status, previews, output URLs, selected results, retries, downloads, and records in your creative history.
- Credits and billing — balances, usage entries, purchases, subscriptions, invoices, refund records, and payment-provider references. Payment card details are generally processed by the payment provider rather than stored directly by OpenRemix.
- Usage and device data — pages and features used, browser and device type, IP-derived approximate region, timestamps, referrals, logs, errors, security events, and performance measurements.
- Cookies and local storage — authentication, security, locale, theme, consent status, drafts, and preferences.
- Support information — messages, attachments, account details, and diagnostics you provide when requesting help.
3. Why we use information
We use information to:
- provide generation, reference handling, storage, history, downloads, account, and support functions;
- route a task to the selected AI provider and return its status and output;
- calculate and return credits, process purchases, administer subscriptions, and maintain transaction records;
- authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, apply rate limits, investigate incidents, and protect the service;
- diagnose errors and improve reliability, performance, accessibility, and product design;
- send service, transaction, security, policy, and support communications; and
- comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Depending on where you live, our legal bases may include performing our contract with you, your consent, compliance with law, and legitimate interests such as security, fraud prevention, support, and service improvement.
4. AI providers and creative content
When you request a generation, the prompt, reference URLs or files, selected settings, and task metadata may be sent to AI infrastructure and model providers needed to complete that request. Those providers may process information in other countries and may apply their own service or retention terms.
Do not place sensitive personal information, secrets, or third-party content in a prompt or reference unless it is necessary and you are authorized to use it. Generated output may itself contain personal information if your input requests or supplies it.
5. Cookies and analytics
Essential storage supports sign-in, security, locale, theme, drafts, and service preferences. Where enabled and permitted, analytics tools may measure page visits, interactions, errors, and performance. The consent banner lets you grant or deny optional analytics on supported pages, and your choice is stored in the browser.
Browser controls can delete cookies or local storage, but doing so may sign you out or reset settings. You can revisit your consent choice by clearing the stored preference or using any consent control made available in the product.
6. When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose only what is reasonably needed:
- to AI model, cloud infrastructure, storage, authentication, payment, email, analytics, security, and support providers acting for the service;
- to comply with law, a valid legal process, or an enforceable government request;
- to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, policy violations, or threats to users and the service;
- in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate notice and safeguards; or
- when you direct or authorize the disclosure.
7. Retention
We keep each category only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Account and creative records may remain while your account is active. Uploaded references and generated assets may remain until you delete them, they expire under product or storage rules, or they are removed through support. Transaction, credit, fraud-prevention, security, tax, and dispute records may be kept longer where required by law or reasonably needed to protect the service.
Backups and provider systems may take additional time to remove an item after deletion. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you.
8. Security
We use measures such as encrypted transport, access controls, credential and secret management, logging, rate limits, provider review, and incident response. No online service can promise absolute security. Use a unique password, protect linked sign-in accounts and API keys, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
9. International processing
OpenRemix and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use contractual or other recognized safeguards for international transfers. Local privacy and government-access rules may differ between jurisdictions.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision about a request. California residents may also have applicable rights to know, correct, delete, limit certain sensitive-information uses, opt out of sale or sharing, and receive equal service. We do not sell personal information.
To make a request, use Contact or email support@openremix.app. We may need to verify your identity and account before acting. Some information may be retained or a request may be limited where permitted or required by law, including for transactions, security, fraud prevention, legal claims, and the rights of others.
11. Children
OpenRemix is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to the processing of their information in their location. Do not create an account or submit a child's personal information without the authorization required by applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child provided information improperly.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product, providers, or law changes. The date above identifies the current version; we will provide additional notice for material changes where appropriate.
Privacy questions and requests can be sent through Contact or to support@openremix.app.
